walk barefoot when it's snowing outside
swim in your shoes in summer
only wear dreams if you have to
notice breakfast, even when it's not beautiful
eat the moon for dinner
go for an ice cream at 4AM
write a love letter to someone you hate
wish yourself a happy birthday
count on your fingers the number of times you've fallen
then count the number of times you've gotten up
and see if they're the same

genesis
I was kind of riffing and wrote out some silly ideas, and then mixed them up ... I'll leave you to guess which nouns went with which verbs originally. It's kind of a puzzle poem. (The last line didn't get scrambled.) (The last line is 3 lines - there are some missing spaces in there.)

A nice exercise. I could see
A nice exercise. I could see using that as an elementary school activity.
I really like the last line. There is an old Japanese proverb I keep in my mind: Fall Seven Times, Stand up Eight. But after reading your poem, I can see my math doesn't work.

your math is better
Hmmm. Assuming you were standing up in the first place, I think actually the Japanese proverb does have it right. (Could you fall if you weren't standing to start with? Could you stand if you hadn't fallen? Oh my.)

Reminds me of "six impossible things before breakfast."
