lilting strains of a Mozart violin concerto
stumble drunk into the spring night air
surprised to find themselves emerging
in the parking lot of a midwestern convenience store
surprised but unperturbed
they pursue their orderly frolic
along the midtown street
dodging cars and teasing passersby
unperturbed people plow through
32nd notes like falling spring petals
pass through the doors and become customers
brushing the notes from their shoulders like snow
customers on a Sunday night
at united dairy farmers #632
scan the colorful shelves and gleaming glass refrigerators
unconsciously seeking to resolve, in commerce, each musical theme

I really like this.
Immediately appealing. I can envision the notes stumbling drunkenly into the street and carrying on and the only slightly annoyed people brushing them off. And I like that they unconsciously try to resolve the themes in commerce because that's the only way they know how. Well done.

Well done!
Wonderful imagery, as playful as the music. I especially like that people are oblivious to the Mozart, dutifully focused on their purchases at United Dairy Farmers #632. Bravo!

Beautiful and sad
A lovely poem. You have conjured up all the images in my mind.
Ah, how we ignore the rich and lasting in our pale attempts to find something and materialistic and fleeting.
