There is a half glass of red wine
On the table next to your red chair
I don't know where you are but you are not far.
I want to let you know
I am giving up beer
For a time, for my weight, for you.
We will outlast this cold winter
Like we outlasted the last one
We are tough that way, we are enough.
Tomorrow we will get out of bed
Like we always do, like we always will
And do those things we have to do.

I really like this one
Read it earlier today, and it stayed with me. It holds up on re-reading. I like how it suggests a great deal, but leaves a lot unspecified. It insists on being met halfway. Very nice.

Thank you Michael. I
Thank you Michael. I appreciate the feedback. I'm going to make an effort to post more poems this year. This little website has allowed me to write some good stuff that I might not have otherwise written.
